Arrival

Area of Responsibility

The Airspace of CYVR Arrival extends from surface up to 13,000ft. Arriving traffic should join the APP frequency the latest at the Arrival Fix.

Arriving Traffic

Arriving Traffic from the north shall be descended down to the altitude required at the arrival fix by Vancouver Center.

Arriving Traffic from the south can be directly transfered from Seattle Center to CYVR_APP, or switch from Unicom, without joining the Frequency of Vancouver Center.

A minimum of 5nm seperation between must be ensured during the entire arrival and approach.
Traffic in the downwind should not be descending lower than 3000ft and should not continue it's descend prior to establishing on the glideslope.

Pilots can either be cleared to descend via a STAR (following altitude & speed restrictions published)

or ATC can clear a pilot for a Arrival with manual altitude restrictions:

ACA123, cleared to descend via the GRIZZ7 arrival, expect ILS 08R, altimeter 2992.

ACA123, cleared GRIZZ7 arrival, descend altitude 8000ft, expect ILS 08R, altimeter 2992.
